In an interview with the Daily Beast and with MSNBC, Daniel Ellsberg—who was the target of a White House hit squad himself in 1972—expressed fear that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s life is in danger:
Also, CBS News has a piece about Daniel’s support of antiwar congressional candidate Marci Winograd here. And Daniel tells Der Spiegel that, Obama is “in some key aspects is nothing other than the third term of the Bush administration.” And he speaks with Antiwar.com Radio about Bradley Manning and the Obama administration’s prosecution of whistleblowers here.

US Public Enemy #1 Assange
So, Assange a Hero, I have never heard of a hero getting someone killed????
This is all well and good until the Islamic Jihad races across America and every other Free Nation, killing all those who refuse allah. I’m absolutely for world peace and freedom of the press and all that jazz, but when they strap bombs to mentally challenged people, use their own children as shields, and blow up nationals during a prayer service, I think we all need to re-evaluate how much freedoms and security mean to us and how often people take advantage of it.
Would Obama take a huge risk by mounting a covert operation to kill Assange? Personally I don’t think so.
Why? Because the backlash would never end. And considering how many people think that he’s a weak President, killing a hero to many would only make Assange a martyr. What’s the point of that?
Anyone who thinks that Julian Assange is anything other than a modern-day confidence man, who has edited the long version of the video he calls “Collateral Murder” for anything other than profit and personal gain, needs to review the video.
Note that the van (taxi), for example, was used to transport the Reuters employees near the battle area. And that, there are six men at this location when Saleh pulls away. Two accompany Namir and Seed to the battle scene. Two others return to the bus which was undoubtedly used to transport the insurgents to the courtyard.
While in route to his children’s school Saleh gets a call from Saeed – Namir has gotten his battle photographs of a humvee which was attacked by these insurgents – requesting that he come back and pick them up. Saeed can be seen on his cell phone at 3:16 when the helicopter engages for the first time. Saleh must have heard the attack over the phone. Ignoring any danger to his children, he quickly returns to pick up his fare only to find a wounded Saeed. This explains why the army report says “the van arrives as if on cue.”
Now all we need is a savvy journalist to get the cell phone records of Saleh and Saeed to prove all of the above!
Dear Mr ASSANGE you sir are a true patriot.I encourage you to stand strong and remain courageous. The american people stand firmly behind you and your freedom of the press, irrespective of what our governments agenda may be.We the people stand behind you.In the name of justice release all the videos.that would be justice and that would be punishment.GOD bless you and yours.
go Assange… GO
If there is a God , may he bless and care for Julian Assange and his colleagues.
The world needs them more than ever.
My heart is so heavy for the people of our Nation, that the oligarch wishes to be no more. I feel the pain of Chief Joseph, in his realization of the future of his people, against the mad machine of the MIGHTY-WHITE CIVILIZATION (misnomer on CIVIL). The vain and powerful, usually wealthy rather than capable, feel they should and shall control the WORLD, like little delusional demigods.
May the universal forces of freedom and the spiritual strength of the people with souls, find and follow Mr. Assange to supply and support his every need. He is truly a hero of the people!
I had the intuitive feeling while watchng OBAMA give away any hope of REAL CHANGE that he would lead us into the lions’ den it appears as though I intuited truth. God be with him!
In a world where governments and organizations cunningly use technology to reduce our privacy to little more than an illusion while they increasingly rely on secrecy and push the limits of of their criminal activities in total impunity, Whistleblowing is one of the last weapons left for us, the people.
Wikileaks stands at the forefront of this important battle and it is now our duty to help them.
The most effective way for most of us is cash donations.

I hope Assange is safe. He is incredibly courageous and a true hero. The vile and evil global corruption of TPTB will be exposed, by Assange and other brave souls like him and Manning. They are terrified because knowledge of what they are really doing will mean their downfall. Right now the clash of the titans is going on behind the mainstream media front, the likes of which are mind boggling. See Christopher Story’s Global Intelligence Analysis for detailed info.
I salute those who are brave enough to leak the truth. This is just the beginning. In doublespeak, ‘National Security = Cover up of how we are defrauding the world populations.’ The Vatican is also very scared right now, being also implicated in the huge international economic frauds, and as the paedophilia activities and mass murder of the Catholic Church is being exposed. For info on this aspect see Kevin Annett’s website http://www.hiddenfromhistory.org
Now is the time we must all help and support each other and get the information out to as many as possible.
Protest in the world is muted and tamed by a fawning corporate media whose only allegiance is to money and power. The masses are smothered and impotent as they watch in horror and are neglected by a political class whose leaders by and large are quislings to the only superpower left on earth.
Now and again though heroes arise above the ordinary who inspire hope. They are many and they toil for truth and justice at mortal risk to their lives for no gain other than to live by their consciences and to help us find the courage to live by ours.
Julian Assange and a growing army of common people will be heard above the deafening silence enforced by powerful elites, a tiny cabal who gained their status by prostituting themselves before the almighty dollar and by doing so forfeited their worth to humanity.
“He [Assange] may actually be one of the most powerful people in the world now.”
Imo, what is more important to understand than “power” is the use of initiatives. Any sociopath, government body or soldier (or anyone else really) all have the faculty of doing horrible things, but some are probably paid, and given licence to do such things, for wanting to tilt the circumstances to better suit their view of a predictable world. And I think that such self rightous privileges are scary, when people are harmed or oppressed.
Assange is truly a man of the age, sprung fully-formed from the pages of a William Gibson novel. He may actually be one of the most powerful people in the world now.
What Wikileaks is doing is provide an invaluable service, while also revealing how small is the range of reporting of other media outlets, particularly those in the US.
The measure of his success is precisely how hard the authorities are working to close him and his operation down. It’s good to see the psyops play out over a situation where most reasonable people can clearly see the good guy.
We are at a crossroads in human consciousness and ability. We have the technology to create and collaborate in ways which threaten or undermine the nation state. Julian’s work erodes the aggregation of power in the hands of the few and distributes it to the many.
We saw great gains in the advancement of technology and society with the advent of the internet. The next step is releasing all the secrets and demonstrating that security is nothing but theater designed to lull audiences into fear.
If nations have nothing left to hold onto, nothing more to control us, it limits their ability to allow us to congregate of citizens of one world. That is a very healthy move forward for all human kind.
